Quick Overview

Karma, the moral law of cause and effect, is used to explain the inequalities and injustice in life, but is also suggests that a person can shape his or her future. The concept of Karma also falls within Buddha's four views: "All compounded things are impermanent. All emotions are pain. All things have no inherent existence. And, Nirvana is beyond concepts." These four views can help Buddhists practice purification. When causes and conditions come together and there are no obstacles, consequences arise. Consequence is Karma. The Karma is gathered by consciousness. One can take comfort in knowing that negative karma are compounded and therefore impermanent and thus purifiable. One can also take comfort knowing that the lack of good merit is impermanent and therefore changeable through performing good deeds. I hope that you will find my free-style ink painting of Buddha providing a special calming influence.
