Ever since painting began, the work of great master has been imitated by other painters. Here is my Chinese brush painting of “Mother and Child.” The original “Mother and Child,” oil on canvas, was created by the Italian painter Titian (1487-1576) during 1570-1576. Titian was a leading Venetian artist and his career lasted for more than 70 years. Like other Venetian painters of the time, Titian tried to develop the qualities of color, tone and texture in his work, achieving superimposed warm and cool tints and delicate modeling with transitional tones.
