“Paper Art – Kuan Yin (10),” Print, 8″x11″, $5.99 Ea

After painting, drawing many images of Kuan Yin , who is the Buddhist Goddess of the Great compassion , I wish to express the beauty and serenity of Kuan Yin with a different form. So, I tried it with the art of paper-cutting to create the unique, beautiful images of Kuan Yin in paper form. Here is one of my creations of Kuan Yin . This image depicts the Goddess Kuan Yin with her right hand showing the gesture of “granting wishes, blessings,” and her left hand holding a willow branch, an important Chinese symbol of Buddhist virtues. The willow branch is renowned for its ability to bend in the most ferocious winds and storms and to spring back into shape again. The willow also has magical powers. It is believed that demons cannot bear the presence of the willow.
