“Paper Art – Kuan Yin (4),” Print, 8″x11″, $5.99 Ea

After painting, drawing many images of Kuan Yin , who is the Buddhist Goddess of Great Compassion , I wish to express the beauty and serenity of Kuan Yin with a different form. So, I tried it with the art of paper-cutting to create the beautiful images of Kuan Yin. Here is one of my creations. This image depicts Kuan Yin’s right hand holding a vase which symbolizes her pouring out her compassion upon the world, and her left hand showing the gesture of “fearlessness and granting protection.” Kuan Yin is also called as “The Giver of Fearlessness,” or “The Bestower of Fearlessness.” She says, “Respect yourself and you will respect others. Be compassionate towards yourself and you will be compassionate towards others.”
