After painting, drawing many images of Buddha, I wish to express the beauty and serenity of Buddha with a different form. So, I tried it with the art of paper-cutting. Here is my creation of an image of Buddha in paper form. The Buddha says, “All formations are impermanent.” Impermanence is a basic feature of all conditioned phenomena. Everything is changing. Not only is the physical changing, but also the mind is changing. When we deny the reality of change, life becomes an endless struggle. When we embrace it, our minds become wise and our hearts tender. Embrace change, we discover the changeless. Accepting loss, we discover love. The image depicts the Buddha holding lotus flowers. The lotus flower represents our own true Buddha nature which is pure, kind and wise.
