“Paper Art-The Buddha (5),” Print, 8″x11″, $5.99 Ea

After painting, drawing many images of Buddha, I wish to express the beauty and serenity of Buddha with a different form. So, I tried it with the art of paper-cutting to create the colorful images of Buddha in paper form. Here is one of my creations. Not being perfect allows us to feel empathy and compassion, not just for ourselves but also, and especially, for others. We see our own frailties and shortcomings in our friends and lovers. Being imperfect joins us in our humanity. This image depicts the Buddha in the famous “Calling Earth to Witness” posture. This pose recalls the Buddha’s connection to the earth in his struggles on the road to enlightenment.
