In Thailand, Buddhism is the official religion and it dominates national life. The king still has the right to appoint the most senior monk in the land. According to the tradition of Thailand, a king must have been ordained as monk and as a member of Thai Sangha before serving his nation and his people. Since thirteen century the Thai Buddha images show majestic and regal nobility. Here is an image of a Thai Buddha statue.
