Heavenly General Wei Tuo, also known as “Wei Tuo Bodhisattva,” was the leader of eight Heavenly Generals, and the protector of Dharma. In a formal sutra, there is a portrait of Buddha at the beginning of the sutra, and there is a portrait of Wei Tuo Bodhisattva at the end of the sutra. In a traditional Buddhist temple, there is a larger than life-size portrait or statue of Wei Tuo Bodhisattva by the entrance door.
